| First
Responders Media Training |
Emergency and other situations that involve the media often require
rapid decisions that, if handled incorrectly, can damage an organization's
credibility and reputation. Moreover, these situations can occur at the most
inconvenient times - after hours, on weekends or during holidays. The first
person to have contact with the media (either by phone or in person) may be
someone other than the designated spokesperson.
First Response Media
Training is a full-day session (or two half-day sessions) providing these
individuals with a game plan - what to say (and not to say) or do until the
designated spokesperson arrives.
Benefits of
Attendance
Thousands of business and other professionals have chosen
The Ammerman Experience in order to learn the skills needed to deal
successfully with the media. First Response Media Training shows those on the
front line how to greet and deal with the news media. The focus of the training
is on politely declining an interview request or providing limited, authorized
information.
Who Should Attend
This workshop is designed for
those who may come in contact with the media but are not designated
spokespersons. Typical participants include: security guards, secretaries or
other administrative personnel, receptionists, switchboard operators,
first-line or shift supervisors, or other personnel who may be called upon to
provide assistance during a crisis or other emergency.
Practical
Learning
This is a skills-development workshop. As our firm's name
suggests, the training we provide is experiential. We use simulated
environments, including tough, experienced journalists. Some features of the
workshop are:
| ° |
|
A quick primer on what to expect from persistent, aggressive
reporters covering your problem, crisis or event. |
| ° |
|
A total of three on-camera exercises. Each exercise is critiqued in
an open forum by the instructor. |
| ° |
|
Training based on a realistic scenario chosen by the
client. |
| ° |
|
Instructors and role players with significant journalism and media
relations experience. |
